Gas WeldingGas Welding is the oldest of the Welding processes. Gas Welding is performed by mixing Oxygen with Acetylene to produce a flame that is in excess of 3000°C. For Gas Cutting, Propane can be used instead of Acetylene. Propane is not suitable for Gas Welding, as it does not produce a hot enough flame for welding, but flame temperature is sufficient for Gas Cutting and Propane is cheaper than Acetylene.
